To the release of MG.34 during the war years, five enterprises with high production precision were attracted: Mauser-Verke, Gustlov-Verke, Maget in Germany; and also taken without battle and destruction "Steir" and "Zbroevka Brno" ("Waffenfabrik Brunn"). The marking of the machine gun included the index "МG.34", stamped from above in the rear part of the box, the serial number and manufacturer's code: аr- "Mauser", bpr - "Grossfuss", dbf - "Gustlov", cra - "Maget", dot or dov - "Waffenfabrik Bryunn", and "Steyr".

After the adoption of MG.42, the production of MG.34 (mainly sets of spare parts) continued until the end of the war only in Steyr and Brno. First of all, this was due to the use of MG.34 as a tank machine gun. In total in 1936-1942 years released 345109 MG.34, and until the end of the war about 400 thousand weapons management from September 1939 to March 1945, took 354,020 such machine guns. In the literature are given the acceptance figures: 1939 - 12730, 1940 - 55350, 1941 - 81467, 1942 - 64593, 1943 - 49890, 1944 - 61342, 1945 - 19647. These figures, of course, differ from the figures of production by years. In the Luftwaffe in 1940, 348 MG.34 machine guns were delivered, in the Kriegsmarine in 1940-1943. - 10827, in the CC troops in 1940-1942. - 587. As of March 1945, the troops numbered 77288 MG.34 During the war, the MS.34 was also exported abroad, for example to Portugal, where it was used in service with the designation M944 from 1944 until the mid-1970s.
